Holidays in Yorkshire

Yorkshire truly is a beautiful part of the world with stunning countryside views mixed with lively built up areas for shopping and entertainment.

When picking a holiday in Yorkshire an amazing place to go is up to the Yorkshire dales. The views are breath-taking with brilliant walks around historic places such as Bolton Abbey where you can see the ruins and walk around the surrounding countryside.

If you fancy something a bit more adventurous then White scar caves in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is a great day out where you go deep down into the earth exploring the longest cave in the UK. You’ll need a hard hat (which is provided) and warm waterproof clothes as well as good walking shoes or boots.

If crawling around caves is not really your thing then a trip to the Yorkshire sculpture park can be a great way to spend a nice day outdoors, the sculptures are constantly changing and many events are held there throughout the year that are suitable for all the family to enjoy.

Vaccinations needed to travel abroad

Whenever you are booking or even considering booking a holiday abroad, you should always find out if you require any vaccinations. Some vaccinations have to be given over a period of time and started quite a time before you are set to travel. It can be quite hard to find out what vaccinations you require and when online, as many sites seem to say different things and if you are travelling to more than one country, it can become a bit of a mine field.

The best way to find out what vaccinations you will need for travelling is to actually contact your GP and ask them. They will have a schedule of what you need to have and when. Ideally ask them to put it in the post or email to you so a) you have it for reference and can work dates back and b) hopefully the person giving you the advice will double check what they are saying is correct if they actually have to write it down.

Rock climbing holidays in Wales

Wales is probably the best place to experience rock climbing in the UK. Snowdonia is located in Wales and is the highest mountain in the country. Many climbers flock to Snowdonia every year to experience the exhilarating challenges that it has to offer. If you are an experienced climber, or have just started out, Snowdonia in Wales has something suited to all.

If it is your first time climbing, then be sure to go with a well experienced guide. They will not only look after you during your climb but will know all the safe spots to visit. Climbing can be extremely dangerous at times if not planned properly. Also you will need to ensure that you have the correct equipment. There are many hire shops in Wales that you can get this from should you not wish to purchase your own.

Rock climbing can be enjoyed by people of all ages and the earlier you start, the better you will become.

A recent trend to hit the world of holiday accommodation is glamping. Glamping is made up of the words glamorous and camping put together…not normally words you might associate with each other.  There are many sites that sell glamping holidays and these often include staying in a luxury tent, lodge or pods. These types of accommodation usually offer the environment of staying in the outdoors whilst providing the luxuries similar to that of a hotel or bed and breakfast.

The idea of being able to camp but also easily make yourself a cup of tea or get a good night’s sleep in a comfy bed appeals to many people and have opened up the camping world to thousands that has previously not ventured in to.
