If you are going on holiday this summer and are going to be staying in a tent or a caravan, then you may need to start packing a little bit earlier than if you were going to be staying in a hotel or on a bed and breakfast. This is because often you need to take a lot more with you such as bedding and towels. If you are going to be towing your own caravan, then try and get it packed up as much as you can in the week or so before you go. This will allow you to enjoy more of your time when on holiday rather than having to unpack and find a place for everything.

When going on a self-catering holiday, you will often find that food is your biggest expense. Buying food from onsite shops is often not the cheapest way to fill your fridge, instead look for a local large supermarket where you can get the majority of your supplies from. You may have many items already in your cupboard at home that you can take with you to cook, rather than having to do whole shop when you are away.  

The more money you can save on food the more you can spend on fun activities or treats or even put it towards saving for your nest holiday. Even taking items from home such as sauces, squash and washing up liquid will save you having to buy them again.

Fuerteventura is the second largest of Spain’s Canary Islands and is situated in the Atlantic Ocean 100km off the north coast of Africa. It is a very popular holiday destination for tourists from all over the world and especially those from Britton.

There are a number of resorts which you can chose from when staying in Fuerteventura. Corralejo is a resort at the north of Fuerteventura. If you fancy a spot of water sports such as snorkelling, kite surfing or surfing then you will not be disappointed with this location. The weather although hot, can be quite windy so you may need a jacket when venturing out in the evenings. The cool breeze can be a welcome relieve from the hot sun in the height of summer.  

Accommodation can make or break a holiday. If you chose the wrong accommodation you may find that it has a knock on effect on the whole of your holiday and that you simply do not enjoy it. You need to think carefully about what it is you want from your accommodation before booking and ensure you read plenty of reviews. If you are just wanting a place to get your head down after a night out with friends or family then the cost of the room and location (how close it is to where you are going out) will probably be of high priority. If on the other hand you are wanting to go somewhere that you can relax in the bar, enjoy the surroundings or spend time in a spa then the facilities will probably be one of the main things to look out for.

Choosing whether to stay in a hotel or B and B is also another option you may need to consider. Many B and B’s have a policy where you have to be in by a certain time before the doors are locked, this is especially true if the B and B is also someone’s home. If you are not planning on returning until late at night or early hours of the morning, a hotel with a 24 hour reception may be better.
