Best Months Per Country For An African Safari

Weather forecasts warned UK residents of impending freezing weather that will result in fierce blizzards and brutal winds. This is about the best time not to be in the country after the endless summer everyone enjoyed. Planning ahead is obviously the chosen method, but it is still not too late to book an Africa holiday safari from your local tour operator.

Explore natural wonders, big open skies, vast wilderness, adventure activities, big game and diverse cultures on the fascinating African continent. Extraordinary climate with sunny, hot weather from September until end of March with temperatures cooling in autumn to a mild winter, it is the ideal destination to escape from cold weather. Tour operators offer a diverse range of multi-country small and large group’s packages, adventure activity breaks, overland safaris and more.

A fulfilling Africa holiday safari requires some planning and information on which African country to visit over specific periods especially if you are flexible about your destination. During certain months of a year the animals are dense in numbers and the seasons differ from South and East Africa.

A South African Safari in the Kruger National Park offers one of the best infrastructures than any other African Park. The best time to visit the Kruger National Park is during the winter months from May through September when it is drier and much cooler. Even though it is winter you will experience no discomfort as the climate at its coldest never goes below ten degrees Celsius.

Namibia’s prime destination is the Etosha National Park and best safari periods are from May through September with animals congregating around water holes. Botswana Safaris are best enjoyed June through September with sunny weather, very little rain and massive herds congregating around Okavango Delta. It is one of the more expensive safari destinations as most of Botswana’s Parks are inaccessible by road. The only way to visit Botswana’s Parks is small plane chartering, a service many locals and touring operators are eager to perform for tourists.

Zambia, Africa Holiday Safari is best experienced from September through November with Elephants in their thousands and massive amounts of zebra, impala, buffalo and others congregate around the Lower Zambezi Valley. During November a smaller migration of wildebeest, around 30, 000 gather in the Liuwa Plain National Park. The Victoria Falls is a magnificent sight not to be missed and at its most impressive from March to April.

Tanzania is known world-wide for the great migration in the Northern parks, the Ngoro Ngoro and Serengeti. The zebra and wildebeest migrations are massive with them having their young during that period. February and March are the best months and the highest number of predators are also seen during these months due to the massive amount of baby animals and herds.

Kenya is at its best during dry seasons from June to October with water scarcity forcing animals around lakes, rivers and water holes and the dryness of the land means less density of vegetation for easy viewing. Uganda has several National Parks which are best visited during the dry seasons from June to September and December to March. Tourists visit Uganda Safari predominantly to see the famous Mountain Gorillas.
